Rederij Groen has been mentioned in a recent investigative report by Pointer (KRO-NCRV) concerning the alleged transfer of Dutch maritime assets to Russia. The reference relates to the sale of a vessel formerly operated by Rederij Groen under the name “Mariska-G”, which was sold in 2019 and is no longer part of our fleet.
Rederij Groen supports the importance of investigating activities linked to Russian intelligence networks. If the vessel was later used in connection with such activities, this is deeply regretted. Had the company possessed the knowledge available today back in 2019, different decisions would have been made regarding the sale.
The “Mariska-G” was sold in 2019. At that time, there were no indications that the buyers or their place of establishment should be considered a red flag. None of the involved parties were listed on any sanctions lists, and all standard documentation related to the sale was received and reviewed. No information was available suggesting unusual or high-risk circumstances.
Rederij Groen remains committed to transparency, integrity, and full compliance with international regulations. The company will continue to cooperate fully with any authority requesting clarification.
