Standby- and Guard Vessels

Since the oil platform disaster off the coast of Scotland on 6 July 1988, much has changed in the area of safety and prevention. Both standby- and guard vessels are now mandatory. In the event of a major incident, there must be permanent supervision. As part of the Netherlands Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Association (NOGEPA) and United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) , standby- and guard vessels have become indispensable for properly functioning oil rigs.

Once again, Rederij Groen plays a supporting role here. We are prepared for all kinds of emergencies and excellently equipped to perform rescue operations with our fast- rescue craft, manned 24 hours a day and always ready for deployment.

We place an emphasis on endurance – operating longer at sea – and rapid execution of assignments and our crew has both the training and skills to function in perfect harmony with our vessels. Every drilling platform that is supported by one of Rederij Groen’s standby vessels can rely on a highly professional approach.
